Privacy Policy

Mouse Trip Tools ("we," "this site") is a free collection of trip-planning tools at mousetriptools.com. This policy explains what information is and isn't collected when you use the site.

What you type stays on your device

Our tools — the ride height checker, trip cost estimator, and packing list generator — run entirely in your web browser. The information you enter (names, heights, party size, trip details, checklist progress) is processed on your device and is never sent to, stored on, or seen by our servers. When you close the page, it's gone.

We do not have user accounts, and we do not ask for or collect your name, email address, or any other personal details — with one opt-in exception: the "Email me my results" button described below, which only does anything if you type your email into it.

Hosting and basic technical data

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like virtually all web hosts, Cloudflare may process standard technical data needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, such as IP addresses and browser type, in server logs. We do not use this data to identify visitors. You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — how many people visit, which pages and tools are used, and roughly where visitors come from. It is privacy-first and cookieless: it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint or track you across sites, and does not collect any personal information. We only ever see anonymous, aggregated counts — never anything that identifies you.

We also use GoatCounter, an open-source, privacy-friendly analytics service, to count a handful of anonymous usage events — for example, "someone used a calculator" or "someone clicked an affiliate link." Like Cloudflare Web Analytics, it is cookieless: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal information, and no record of who did anything — only aggregate counts of what happened. Email — only if you ask

Some tools offer an optional "Email me my results" button. If — and only if — you enter your email address there, we send it (together with the link to your results) to beehiiv, the email service we use, so it can email your results link back to you. You'll first get a confirmation email (double opt-in) — nothing is sent or stored until you click it.

What's stored with beehiiv if you confirm: your email address and your results link. Nothing else — no name, no tracking profile. We may occasionally send planning tips; every email has a one-click unsubscribe, which deletes you from the list. We never sell or share the list. If you don't use the button, no email feature touches you at all. beehiiv's privacy policy is at beehiiv.com/privacy.

Advertising and cookies

This site does not currently display any advertisements. If we add third-party ad networks (such as Google AdSense) in the future, we will update this policy before doing so. Those networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, measure performance, and — where permitted — personalize them based on your visits to this and other websites.

Mouse Trip Tools itself does not set cookies. The only analytics we use are Cloudflare Web Analytics and GoatCounter, both of which are cookieless and anonymous (see the Analytics section above).

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links, including links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. If you click an affiliate link, the destination site (e.g., Amazon) may set cookies to attribute your visit; this is governed by that site's own privacy policy. Affiliate links never cost you anything extra, and we never see what you purchase — only anonymous, aggregated commission reports.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for parents and adult trip planners. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Heights or names entered into the tools stay in your browser and are never transmitted to us.

Links to other sites

This site links to third-party websites (retailers, ticket sellers, official park resources). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices — review their policies when you visit them.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change — for example, if we add an analytics tool or a new ad network — we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
