Enter your kids' heights and instantly see every Walt Disney World ride they can go on — and which ones they're this close to unlocking.
Yes — cast members measure at the ride entrance with shoes on, but hats off. If your child is borderline, normal sneakers are fine; don't count on thick soles, since cast members can ask kids to step out of oversized footwear.
If a child is measured and passes, cast members often give a colored wristband valid all day for rides with the same or lower requirement. Get measured at your first height-restricted ride to skip repeat checks.
If one child can't ride, Disney's free Rider Switch lets adults take turns: one waits with the little one while the other rides, then they swap without re-queuing. Ask the cast member at the ride entrance.
Magic Kingdom — it has the most rides with no height requirement at all (Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, "it's a small world," Peter Pan's Flight, Dumbo and more). Animal Kingdom is also very toddler-friendly if you skip its three thrill rides.
Requirements are current as of mid-2026, including Big Thunder Mountain's new lower 38″ requirement after its 2026 reopening. Disney occasionally adjusts requirements, so always confirm in the My Disney Experience app before promising a ride.
